TECHNOLOGY
The manufacturers, and ISO 9001 and 14001 company, have commercialized technologies developed by parent company to arm the farmers with strong & powerful products to revolutionalize environment friendly agriculture.
The company has set up a full-scale fermentation plant to produce Liquid Bio-inoculants with large capacities to cater to the farmers around the globe. Subsequently, company has diversified to produce Bio fungicides, Compost Kinetizers, bio-nematicides and Liquid Bio-fungicides.
Liquid Bio-inoculants: A dream come true!
Traditional carrier based Bio-inoculants were facing lot of problems with commercialization and mass-production. There were limitations like the shelf life, application methods, storage conditions etc. that had to be over comed. Company is successful in making the microbes survive in liquid form. This is possible when the microbes capable of forming dormant forms like cysts or spores are used as microbial inoculants.
A process is standardized to produce liquid inoculants. After rigid quality tests, the product is ready for commercialization. The details of survival dynamics of microbes in liquid form, of 80 batches of liquid inoculants, can be found in a paper which was published in March 25 issue of the Journal – “Current Science”.
BACKGROUND
When most of the scientists were engaged in proving the merits of chemicals on fields, our research team had started to work on Azotobacter, a non-symbiotic nitrogen fixing bacterium, with an aim of offering low cost environment friendly alternatives to chemicals used as agricultural inputs.
We carried out a massive screening program for isolation of Azotobacter from Indian soils and formulated carrier based [lignite] inoculants of Azotobacter. These inoculants were tested on more than 30,000 acres by various government, semi government and individual farmers in varied agro-climatic zones on various crops.
Our team of renowned medical graduates and microbiologists, dedicated their entire life understanding problems faced by cultivators. They were adept at harnessing their knowledge of medicine, microbiology, and technical skills to develop and transfer need of the hour technologies.
After carrying out a massive screening program they infused new enthusiasm and life into a commodity, which was least understood at that time – bio-inoculants. With their knowledge of medicine, they proposed the use of dormant forms of bacteria rather than active cells for formulation. Liquid biological inoculants took root in their mind in 1977 and their dream was realized after rigorous experimentation in 1993.
Together they set out on an up-hill task of inventing and subsequent standardization of a process to produce Liquid bio-inoculants. They obtained a patent for production of improved bio-inoculants.
They are pioneers in the field of technology of improved microbial inoculants for agriculture. They have established themselves with an aim to provide safe organic inputs to farmers. The company built up its state of the art infrastructure for cultivation of microbes useful for agriculture. Starting from a pioneering idea and patent for liquid bio-inoculants the company has progressed to add new eco-safe products to its product list.
